Dr. Ramona Shires is a Senior Instructional Systems Designer at Aptima, Inc. Dr. Shires holds a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from National University of Health Sciences, a MA in Education Leadership/Instructional Technology and a BA in Elementary Education from University of West Florida. She has more than 40 years of experience in the analysis, design, development, delivery and management of public school, university, non-profit, commercial, DoD and international education and training programs. She is an expert in the ADDIE Model and Instructional Systems Design. Dr. Shires helped to develop NAUTICAL (Novel AI Utility for Training, Instruction, and Comprehensive Analytic Learning), an AI assistant for training development that utilizes large language models (such as ChatGPT) to aide instructional systems designers. She has served on several leadership, program and tutorial subcommittees for the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), where she served as the 2014 Education Subcommittee Chair.
