Spencer Lynn, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist at Charles River Analytics. He conducts research on perception, learning, and decision making in humans and animals. While in academia, from 2003-2017, he developed models of motivation, emotion, and decision in collaboration with mental health clinicians to understand individual differences in emotion-laden decision making in healthy humans and the breakdown of those processes under stressors and mental illness. At Charles River, his work focuses on development of technology that applies evidence-based, computational modeling of cognitive and behavioral processes to training and operational readiness in diverse domains including AI for intelligent, adaptive training to monitor and model learner skill and knowledge acquisition to intervene for proficiency-based advancement, remediation, refresher training, and just-in-time up-skilling. Prior to joining Charles River, Dr. Lynn was a research assistant professor of Psychology at Northeastern University. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Arizona in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
