Madeleine Keehner, CEO and Principal Scientist at Brighter Research, has a PhD in experimental cognitive psychology, two decades as a professional researcher, and over 10 years in the educational assessment industry. Prior to founding Brighter Research, she was Director of Cognitive and Learning Sciences at Educational Testing Service (ETS), the lead cognitive scientist for ETS on the US Department of Education’s National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP, aka The Nation's Report Card), and Executive Director of the NAEP Survey Assessment Innovations Lab, where she oversaw around a dozen federally funded education-focused R&D projects.
