Biography

Nicholas Walczak is a Scientist I in the Intelligent Software and Systems Business Unit at Raytheon BBN Technologies and has worked on numerous projects in his 6 years at Raytheon BBN, generally revolving around computer vision and machine learning. Dr Walczak was the PI for the Terrain Learning During Drop option of the LUMINATE project which aimed to create georeferenced maps from video recorded during a parachute drop with the intent of using object detection and land cover segmentation to propose evacuation routes for isolated personnel. Dr Walczak also worked on a processing pipeline for analyzing microscopy images as part of the DARPA Engineering Living Material program. He also worked on the CASTLE and CITADEL projects for ARL/STTC as well as MMLT.
